Looking for the best things to do in Miami and South Florida this 4th of July weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your weekend list!

It's July 4th weekend in Miami. With the holiday on Friday, you can expect a weekend's worth of family-friendly entertainment in South Florida celebrating the 249th birthday of the United States.

We've compiled a host of Fourth of July events to enjoy with the kids, including rides, live music, and a pie-eating contest at the Independence Day Celebration in Pembroke Pines as well as fireworks celebrations in Miami Beach's North Beach and South Beach. Spend the day celebrating America with live bands, a kids zone, beach games, and activities at the 4th of July Spectacular in Fort Lauderdale. In West Palm Beach, 4th on Flagler offers fireworks, entertainment, a kids zone, and more.

For added holiday weekend inspiration, check out our South Florida Activities Calendar, which is updated regularly with the best Miami and South Florida happenings for kids and families, including the best places to view July 4th fireworks in the region.

If you're heading to the Keys this holiday weekend, make sure to visit Key West's annual Key Lime Festival, which celebrates the island's signature citrus fruit.
