In South Florida, sunshine and smiles go hand in hand, especially when you ask, “Want to go to the playground?” From Miami to Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, playgrounds are where kids burn off energy, make new friends, and soak up the fun under blue skies. We’ve rounded up the best playgrounds across South Florida that keep kids climbing, swinging, and laughing, while parents get a well-earned moment to relax, people-watch, and enjoy the tropical vibes.

Best Playgrounds for Kids Near Miami

1. Altos Del Mar Park—Miami Beach

Steps from the beach, this themed playground is a hit with little pirates. Kids can climb the pirate tower, explore boulders, ride sea-creature spring toys, and play aboard themed structures, all while parents enjoy ocean breezes and nearby amenities.

2. Amelia Earhart Park—Hialeah

This park is a full-day adventure! In addition to wakeboarding, disc golf, and a farm village with a petting zoo, kids will love the whimsical “Tom Sawyer’s Island”–style playground. Expect climbing structures, learning walls, slides, balance features, and plenty of room to explore and imagine.

3. Coral Way Community Center—Miami

Coral Way Community Center Playground is a hidden Miami gem featuring a newly expanded, gated playground with a ship-themed structure, a three-story slide, and a toddler-friendly train area.

4. Doral Glades Park—Doral

Set on 12 acres, this nature-filled park features a lake, nature center, boardwalk, and shaded, nature-themed playground. The fenced-in play area includes slides, climbing elements, and swings.

5. Indian Hammocks Park—Kendall

This popular Kendall park offers a nature-based playground with climbing structures, slides, and swings, plus plenty of open space for kids to run and play. Beyond the playground, families can enjoy a nature preserve, skate park, disc golf courses, and picnic areas.

6. Palmetto Bay Park—Palmetto Bay

This park and playground features basketball and pickleball courts, a skate park, walking paths, and green space. The fully accessible playground includes separate areas for little and big kids, plus climbing features, swings, slides, and imaginative play structures.

7. Peter Bluesten Park—Hallandale Beach

This turf playground has tons of bright colors and things to do. The park offers basketball, tennis, a walking path, and more. The fenced playground features spider climbers, obstacle courses, balance elements, slides, and swings, plus plenty of open space for kids to run free.

8. Quail Roost ParkMiami

This 20,300-square-foot playground features rock climbing walls, swings, slides, a rocket ship-themed playground, and plenty of open space to run around. Kids of all ages can spin, climb, play with musical instruments, and use their imaginations as they explore.

9. Salvador Park—Coral Gables

A local favorite, this fully fenced playground includes zip lines, musical play areas, climbing structures, swings, and shaded seating. With mulch and turf surfaces, it’s great for kids of all ages.

10. Bayview Park—Fort Lauderdale

This brightly colored playground has shaded areas and a good amount of space for kids to run around. Kids can climb, spin, slide, and swing while parents enjoy nearby seating.

11. Betti Stradling Park—Coral Springs

With a splash pad, skate park, and paved walking trails, this large park offers something for everyone. The fenced playground features bold colors, climbing structures, and enclosed spiral slides.

12. Markham Park—Sunrise

This expansive park offers something for everyone, with camping, biking and nature trails, an observatory, playground, picnic areas, and a dog park. Visitors can also enjoy disc golf, fishing, sports courts, a fitness facility, and unique amenities like a model airplane field and one of South Florida’s top outdoor public shooting ranges.

13. Plantation Woods Park—Plantation

This whimsical, woods-themed park features squirrel statues, treehouses, and artistic touches. Three shaded playgrounds are divided by age, plus a splash pad nearby.

14. Sabal Pines Park—Coconut Creek

A castle-themed playground with bridges, dragon climbers, and plenty of imaginative play opportunities. While not fully shaded, the soft surface and fun structures make it a standout.

15. Volunteer Park—Plantation

This park boasts a fenced playground, a huge grassy field, courts, and a scenic wetland walking path. The playground encourages climbing, running, and sliding for active kids.

16. Waters Edge Park—Tamarac

Perfect for hot days, this park features a large splash pad and a covered playground. Kids can cool off, climb, swing, and slide while parents enjoy shaded picnic areas.

17. Welleby Park—Sunrise

Nearly 30 acres of family fun! Highlights include a lakeside playground, splash pad, and the beloved Safety Town: a miniature city with working traffic lights where kids can ride bikes and scooters. (BYOB: Bring your own bike/scooter to utilize safety town!)

Surrounded by nature, this park offers a boardwalk through cypress trees, butterfly garden, sports courts, and nature trails. The playground includes climbing structures and a fun rocket ship structure with slide.

19. Constitution Park Playground—Tequesta

20. Kidscape Park—Loxahatchee

This popular local park features castle-themed playgrounds designed for both little and big kids. Bonus: it's a short 15-minute drive to Lion Country Safari!

21. Liberty Park—Parkland

This park is ideal for little ones, with seven acres, two playgrounds, a water play area, and one large pavilion. The fenced-in playgrounds are large with slides, running bridges, and swings.

22. Patch Reef Park—Boca Raton

Patch Reef Park’s new all-inclusive playground features wheelchair-accessible swings, hill-mounted slides for easier access, upgraded splash pad elements, and soft turf with added shade for comfort. The fenced playground includes improved seating, new picnic areas, restrooms, and ADA parking.

23. Pine Trails Park—Parkland

This is a popular Parkland destination offering walking trails with fitness equipment, a fishing pier, and plenty of open space.
