Halloween is just around the corner in Miami and South Florida, bringing plenty of trick-or-treat excitement. If you're planning to explore local neighborhoods, you'll find many that fully embrace the Halloween spirit with elaborate decorations and plenty of candy for every costumed child.

We've polled local parents, sourced community events, and compiled a list of great options for your family to safely trick-or-treat in Miami and South Florida this Halloween. So get out there, enjoy the spooky festivities, and come home with a stash of sugary sweets to celebrate a Miami Halloween.

El Portal and Miami Shores Neighborhoods—Miami

These neighborhoods are recommended by locals who agree that the Halloween decorations are festive, and the trick-or-treating yields an impressive candy haul.

Forest Hills Neighborhood—Coconut Creek 

This neighborhood in Coconut Creek is famous for having a LOT of candy. 

Hidden Lake Neighborhood—Boca Raton

This nongated community gives trick-or-treaters access to a candy-stocked neighborhood, where the majority of homes are decked out in Halloween decorations.

Palm Beach Farms and Carriage Hills—Boca Raton

This FREE, family-friendly Halloween event features candy stations, live entertainment, a DJ, food trucks, and more. From 7 to 8 pm, kids can trick-or-treat through the village in costume, enjoy performances, and snap festive photos in a safe, spooky setting.

Halloween Spooktacular at Miami International Mall—Miami

Miami International Mall offers mallwide trick-or-treating on Halloween evening from 5 to 7pm, complete with a costume contest, DJ music, character appearances, and festive fun for kids in costume.

Halloween Trail of Treats—Hallandale Beach
