1. Candlelight Ghost Tours of Merchant's House Museum – East Village

Bring a flashlight to help you find your way for this truly unique seasonal experience. 3. Procession of the Ghouls at St. John the Divine – Morningside Heights

Why it's great for teens: Have theater-loving teens celebrate the spooky festivities by attending a screening of Lon Chaney's 1926 film, The Phantom of the Opera, which precedes the Cathedral of St. John the Divine's beloved annual Halloween celebration: the Procession of the Ghouls. Not only will there be live organ accompaniment, the Mettawee River Theater Company scares and delights audiences with larger-than-life ghouls and goblins following the movie. Note: Advance tickets for this event have sold out, but additional tickets, if available, will be released on Wednesday, October 15.
4. Village Halloween Parade – Greenwich Village

Why it's great for teens: Older kids can show off their costumes and revel in Halloween festivities at the Village Halloween Parade, NYC's most celebrated spooky procession. Each year, more than 50,000 people come together to show off some of the most creative and jaw-dropping costumes.
5. Haunted Bank – Soho

Why it's great for teens: This haunted house immersive experience blends storytelling with top-notch special effects and theatrics. The experience takes place in a real abandoned bank where a botched robbery left blood and ghosts in its wake. Expect elaborate sets, eerie soundscapes, and terrifying characters. Why it's great for teens: Even the most jaded teens will be impressed by the 7,000 hand-carved, illuminated, jack-o'-lanterns at the renowned Halloween walk-through at Van Cortlandt Manor. New for 2025 is a jack-o'-lantern big top adventure, a Wicked-themed, emerald-hued storybook pumpkin dreamscape, and the Headless Horseman’s Hideaway, featuring spooky sips and haunting visits from the Horseman himself, sure to tickle any teens spine. This one requires getting out of the city—but it is accessible via the Metro-North.
8. Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail at the NYBG – The Bronx

Why it's great for teens: Many teens have seen and love Tim Burton's classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas. The characters, scenes, and songs come to life at the NYBG with dazzling light installations, video projections, LED lighting, and 3D-printed sculptures.
