It's almost time for Holi 2025! The Holi Festival of Colors—also known as the festival of spring and the festival of love—is a Hindu festival widely celebrated in India, Nepal, and other parts of the world with Hindu communities. The most popular part of Holi celebrations is the throwing of the colors, where large crowds gather with music and dancing and throw colored powder on each other.

Holi is a great opportunity for kids to learn about another culture. It's also a fun excuse for them to get messy with a rainbow of colors. We've put together some ideas for how to celebrate Holi 2025 with kids, including fun Holi crafts, books about the Holi festival, and more.

Best Summer Sports Camps in Westchester and the Hudson Valley

Looking for a great sports day camp for kids this summer? Westchester and the Hudson Valley have a variety of awesome options, from camps offering traditional sports such as soccer, baseball, and football to more niche sports camps featuring rock climbing and parkour.

We’ve rounded up several multisports camps in and near Westchester where kids ages toddler to teen can participate in a variety of sports. We have also listed the camps providing intensive training focused on improving skills in one sport, with camps specifically for soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, golf, swimming, and rock climbing.

St. Patrick's Day Parades and More Best Things To Do in Westchester and the Hudson Valley March 2025

From St. Patrick's Day parades to the arrival of spring and plenty of Easter fun, March is a great time to get out and enjoy Westchester and the Hudson Valley.

March features multiple celebrations of St. Patrick's Day, including the annual Luck of the Hill event at Ridge Hill, which has live music, dancing, and Irish flair. Also celebrated in March is Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors. Kids can get messy and learn about this fun and colorful festival at this Holi Art Party at Shake it Off.  

Families can also reap the sweet rewards of the maple sugaring season in March at multiple events, including Maple Fest at The Ashokan Center and Teatown's Pancake Brunch and Maple Celebration.

Looking for the best things to do in Westchester and the Hudson Valley this Presidents Day weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list this holiday weekend!

This Presidents Day weekend families can enjoy some of the coolest events of the month, including a meet and greet with Elephant and Piggie at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum. Or, enjoy the outdoors at the Ashokan Center's Hot Chocolate Fest in Olivebridge, where there will be live music, aerialist performances, campfires, and decadent sips.

And, lest we forget that Monday’s holiday is intended to honor George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, celebrate accordingly with a cool Presidents Day commemoration in Mount Vernon or at Washington's birthday celebration at New Windsor Cantonment.

Valentine's Day and More Things To Do in Westchester and the Hudson Valley February 2025

Whether sending valentines or planning a Presidents Day weekend getaway, there is plenty to love about February in Westchester and the Hudson Valley!

No need to get cabin fever this February as Westchester and the Hudson Valley are filled with fun, family-friendly things to do. February marks the beginning of the Year of the Snake, with celebrations including the Lunar New Year Festival at the Hudson River Museum featuring the ceremonial lion dance, art projects for kids, and a special planetarium show highlighting traditional Chinese constellations.

Other standout events this February include the return of Cirque Zuma Zuma to the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, Mutts Gone Nuts at the Tarrytown Music Hall, and a Valentine's Day Party with Wolves at the Wolf Conservation Center.
