Editor's note: Organizers have announced the 2026 Jones Beach Air Show will take place Sunday, July 5, and Monday, July 6, 2026, as part of the 250th anniversary celebration of the United States.

The super-popular Jones Beach Air Show is returning in all its thrilling glory to Jones Beach this Memorial Day weekend. The show, formerly known as the Bethpage Air Show and now officially rebranded as the FourLeaf Air Show, features show-stopping aviation acrobatics.

May is here, and it's shaping up to be a stellar month. We're excited to welcome back highly anticipated annual events like the Jones Beach Air Show and the Fleece and Fiber Fair at Hallockville Farm Museum. This month, Long Island's largest water park, Splish Splash, will also reopen, sporting a new water playground.

This weekend's Easter brunch at the Long Island Aquarium features a penguin scavenger egg hunt, a kids' craft station, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Stomp over to The Center for Science to participate in an adventurous egg hunt while interacting with animatronic dinos and live animals.

Experience a Willy Wonka twist on the traditional Easter egg hunt as Waterdrinker Family Farm in Manorville hides a giant golden egg in the field every hour. Or march along the streets of Bellmore, Port Jefferson, or Bellport with the Easter Bunny.

Families can also celebrate Earth Day with a free slate of activities at Tanger Outlets, including an animal show, face painting, and a scavenger hunt.

If you're looking for a fun and exciting way to challenge yourself while spending quality time with your family, the Adventure Park at Long Island in Wheatley Heights is a great option. 

We brought six teens with varying comfort levels on heights to this adventure park in early spring and the entire bunch was electric afterwards, boasting about their course conquests and lightning finishing speeds. I would highly recommend the Adventure Park at Long Island for active kids and small groups.
