Looking for the best things to do in Miami and South Florida this Veterans Day weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your weekend list!

Halloween has come and gone and, believe it or not, Miami and South Florida are already turning the page toward Thanksgiving and the holidays. In Fort Lauderdale this weekend, families can get a headstart at the annual Light Up Lauderdale celebration, while in Miami, the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden begins its seasonal NightGarden exhibit.

If you're not ready for the holiday season just yet, why not take in a few of the other great things happening in our area this Veterans Day weekend, including the Camelot Days Medieval Festival in Hollywood, the Children's Festival of the Arts in Plantation, or the Drone Show Extravaganza in Pompano Beach? Honor a veteran at celebrations all across the region this weekend, including in Lake Worth Beach on Saturday.

By the way, if you are still looking to give away some of your children's excess Halloween candy, see our rundown of the best donations destinations nationwide.
