Google Brings Pop-up Mini Golf to Third St. Promenade

Google, let's play mini golf! The Google Mini Golf pop-up coming to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica finds a cool way to demonstrate Google Home products: with a voice and putter activated mini golf game.
OUR LATEST VIDEOS
Open to the public from Saturday June 30 through Thursday July 5, the free experience is a promo for the popular Google Home products, from the Google Home Mini to the Google Home Max. Guests play a round of mini golf while learning about the ways Google Home can make life easier, by helping with simple tasks.
Details should be similar to the pop-up that ran in NYC earlier this year. The event centers around a pair of three-hole "courses," plus one shared final hole all guests play. In addition to a traditional putter, players also use the voice-activated Google products to navigate the course, which organizers say is a 15 to 20-minute experience.

Each hole on the course is modeled after a room in a home and aims to teach how Google products can simplify everyday tasks. Players might putt their way through a child's bedroom and learn that they can broadcast simple announcements, like asking Google to let their family know it's dinnertime by announcing to all interconnected Google speakers; or greet Google with a "good morning," and await a personalized rundown of the day's weather and news. Other holes in the course demonstrate how Google products can help in the kitchen, by reading out a step-by-step recipe and keeping a timer so the cookies don't burn, to turning on connected appliances like the TV, surveillance cameras, and a home fan.
"Hey Google turn on the fan"-play a free round of mini-golf while learning about Google products.
Upon completing the course, visitors get to enjoy a dance party with the Google Max, while taking a chance at winning a prize to take home. Golfers drop their balls onto a pin-board-like ball return. Balls are sorted into one of three bins—land in the small middle section to take home a Google Home Mini! One lucky winner daily nabs a Max. Land in the outside bins and still walk away with small Google-themed goodies: golf socks! Other fun includes an on-site photo booth.
The Google Mini pop-up is located at 228 3rd Street Promenade (the location previously housed a DB Shoes store). Hours are 11am to 9pm. All visits are first come, first serve.
