Anyone can light a tree, but it takes rocket scientists to light a space capsule!  Columbia Memorial Space Center illuminates its Apollo capsule, its unique tradition to ring in the holiday season.

The evening also includes hands-on activities where science meets the holidays! 

The TubaChristmas concert starts at 4:30pm, followed by the capsule lighting.

Guests can also get their first gifts of the season, as the Assistance League of Downey is on site giving out free books.

The ceremony is free to attend, no reservations needed.
