Planning a kid's party on Long Island is incredibly fun, but it can quickly get expensive. My family is lucky enough to attend many fantastic kids' birthday parties. We have also thrown a few! My kids are 5 and 8 years old, so we've skated, bowled, and bounced our way through countless celebrations. Birthday parties on Long Island don't have to break the bank to be memorable!

A budget-friendly backyard bash or an affordable bounce house venue can often be more fun than an overpriced spot. We went to an 8th birthday party here in the morning, and it was so much fun! 

2. Iceland — New Hyde Park

This ice skating rink is an indoor venue ideal for holding a birthday party at any time of the year. This indoor ice rink has great party packages at affordable prices. My daughter has been to several birthday celebrations at this location and had the very best time. For a small additional fee, you can even rent a pro to skate with the kids and help with their skating skills. Insider tip: bring some quarters for the kids to play the claw machine! 

3. Pump It Up — Great Neck 

Kids can bounce, slide, and climb their way to a perfect birthday celebration, while you stay on budget at this venue. It offers activities in different rooms, keeps the kids moving, and is good fit for younger kids. You can even add on a character meet and greet for the special day. My son went to a 4th birthday party here and had an awesome time! Bonus: Pump It Up can do a party favor bag if needed! 

4. Casa de Spin — Massapequa 

Art is the focus at this studio that offers a cool and creative party option for kids. Kids will learn about and create spin art. The price is reasonable, and you are able to bring in food and cupcakes to celebrate after everyone's works of art are complete. 

5. Pretzel Town USA — Rockville Centre 

A pretzel-making celebration is perfect for the little chef in your family. Kids will love chowing down on unlimited pretzel nuggets and dipping sauces! And, of course, the main event is every kid makes and twists their very own soft pretzel! Bonus: This spot is a nut-free bakery and event space. My daughter went with her Girl Scout troop and had the absolute best time! 

6. Lipstick & Lollipops — Brookhaven

Everyone loves a spa day, even kids! Glamour, pampering, and princess vibes are on the menu at this spot. Party packages vary, and there's even an option for a Petite Party with 8 guests, including the birthday princess or prince, if you need to keep it small.

7. Urban Air — Dix Hills 

This spot provides an action-packed birthday celebration kids will love. My kids crave activity, and this place keeps them bouncing, swinging, and climbing. The basic package prices are reasonable for a party here, just skip the add-ons to stay on budget. My kids get very excited when they see an Urban Air party invite. 

8. Sweetbriar Nature Center — Smithtown

Nature-loving kids will enjoy a birthday celebration at this venue. The nature center can accommodate a small gathering of 25 people indoors, and you will be responsible for bringing in the food and drinks. Children can meet and interact with animals during the program and learn about the animals, too. Balloons are not allowed at this venue. 

9. Lil' Tots Sports Studio — Bellport

This affordable sports-themed party venue for the early childhood age range is a good fit for little ones to celebrate. Kids will be active and contained in a spacious area. Bonus parents can come to the party at no additional expense. Food is included in the birthday party package, but you provide the sweet treats.  

10. Quogue Wildlife Refuge — Quogue 

The wildlife refuge can provide a unique experience for nature-loving kids to celebrate their birthday! Options range from a meeting with the animals party to a hiking adventure with a guided tour of the refuge to a kayak adventure for older kids and teens. For parties at the refuge, you will need to provide the food. You can even meet the animals in your home for a birthday celebration for up to 20 kids. The critters will visit for an hour and a $300 travel fee. My kids adore the Quogue Wildlife Refuge and have learned so much from our visits. 

11. Chuck E. Cheese — Various Long Island Locations 

Always a popular choice with kids, Chuck E. Cheese offers incredibly affordable party options starting at $99 for birthday celebrations of six kids, plus the food cost. There are various locations across Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk County. My kids always enjoy a Chuck E. Cheese party with unlimited gameplay for two hours, pizza, and unlimited soft drinks.

12. Michaels Stores — Various Long Island Locations 

Kids who love to craft will get their creative juices flowing at this affordable birthday party location. The packages start under $200 for a small group and offer a variety of themes from dinosaurs to bracelet making to a tie-dye party to an under-the-sea theme. Note the packages have specific age specifications, so the crafts are age-appropriate. The necessary add-ons will be the pizza, soda, and decorations.

This state park is a true gem on Long Island and perfect for a milestone birthday event. The Carousel Pavilion Building party room can be rented for birthday parties and other events. The park is beautiful with water views, playgrounds, a nature center, and more.

14. John D. Caemmer Park — Albertson

This local park has an adorable playground for little ones, a gazebo to relax in the shade, baseball fields, basketball, grassy areas, and an on-site building with restrooms. The space in the building can be rented by permit for community use. My kids liked this playground when they were younger and now really enjoy the baseball fields and basketball hoops. There are great pizza shops nearby for delicious party food. 

15. Skudin Surf — Long Beach

Adventure-seeking older kids and teens who celebrate their birthday in the summer will love a day at the beach and a surf party. This surf school offers different packages with surf lesson options, beach games, and catered food. This could even be an idea for a unique summer Sweet 16 party! 

16. Blydenburgh County Park — Smithtown 

A picnic party outdoors can make for an incredible birthday experience. We've been to a lot of fun outdoor park parties over the years. This park allows picnics in designated areas, and a permit must be requested for groups of 10 people or more.

17. Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park— Manorville

Spend the day at the zoo and set up your kiddo's birthday party outdoors at one of the picnic areas. Birthday packages vary, but start at a minimum of 15 people and include admission for your group. A small party will come in well under $500, and you bring your own food. There is also an option to rent out a private gazebo or party barn for a very reasonable additional fee. Kids who adore animals will flip for this unique venue filled with the most adorable animals. My kids absolutely love visiting with the llamas and seeing the zebra! 

18. Suffolk County Farm — Yaphank

Throw an adorable and affordable farm-themed party at this venue, where you can visit with farm animals and feed them, take a ride on a tractor-drawn wagon, and bring in your own food and decorations to celebrate. The private space is a covered arbor outside, or there's an indoor option. Birthday parties are available on most weekends.

19. Knights of Columbus — Various locations 

Check your local town for a Knights of Columbus hall if you are looking to rent out a large space for a birthday celebration. Most locations offer affordable spaces that often include tables, chairs, a kitchen, and restrooms. These halls are usually ideal for a large capacity party of 100 to 300 people. 

20. American Legion— Valley Stream 

This neighborhood event space can be rented for a birthday event and is located a few blocks from LIRR. There's also a lot of parking, which is great for guests. This space is for a bigger party with a minimum of 80 people and a maximum of 160 people with a dance floor. You can reach out for a quote once you know your guest number.  

21. Port Jefferson Village Center — Port Jefferson 

The Village Center's space has four different rooms available to be rented out for private events. The space offers views of the village and the harbor. The Skip Jack Room on the first floor has a capacity of 50-70 guests and is great for a birthday celebration. Rental prices vary depending on the room, party length, day of the week, and if you are a village resident. 

22. Bethpage PAL — Bethpage 

A party at this venue fits 70 people for a celebration and has round tables, chairs, and a kitchen for party use. It features a built-in speaker system to keep the music pumping all night and is usually rented for five hours. You will have to DIY decorations and food. This location also has plenty of parking available for guests, and the rental will cost in the $600 range. 

23. Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 15 Hall — Massapequa 

 This hall can be rented for a celebration for about 70 people for about $600. It is located near the train station, which is convenient for guests. You will be providing the food and drinks for the birthday fiesta. It is usually rented for four hours with an hour of set-up time.
