The Origin and Meet the MOMbies

In 2016, the MOMbies began as a playful idea to take Halloween to the next level. The group was founded by Terry Davis and her friend group of everyday moms, none with formal dance backgrounds. These moms practiced secretly to perform a creepy, choreographed flash mob for their family and friends, as well as trick-or-treating neighbors. The reactions showed it was a complete success. Inspired, the MOMbies kept the tradition alive, welcoming new members, adding fresh songs, and stepping up their costume game.

As their performances drew attention, the group realized they could make a bigger impact. They began asking audiences to support to the metastatic breast cancer reseearch team at Sloan Kettering. Donations began to pour in, and the MOMbie story took off. There dances went virtual and more than just locals knew their name.

With over 50 dancers each year, the MOMbies movement has not only brought unforgettable performances, but also forged lasting friendships. The intricate costumes showcase each MOMbie’s unique personality and capture the true spirit of Halloween. Explore each member’s biography to get to know the MOMbies. You’ll be doing a double-take when you see their everyday look versus the MOMbie transformation!
