Mommy Poppins has lots of ways for your family to stay cool and have fun in August! Welcome in the month with a visit to the past. At Dinosaur State Park Day in Rocky Hill, is when you can step back in time to see real dino footprints left here in Connecticut millions of years ago. And the Taste of Caribbean and Jerk Festival in Hartford features real Caribbean food, beautiful costumes, and dancing. Pull out the recipe book and come pick some juicy peaches at the Peach Festival at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, and enjoy free activities like facepainting, live music, and crafts.

And of course, August is festival season! There's still a full month of Summer festivals and fairs in 2025 in Connecticut for families, where you can find food and fun for everyone.
