Looking for the best things to do in Los Angeles this St. Patrick's Day weekend? St. Patrick’s Day 2025 is packed with parades, leprechauns, and more fun events.

The luck of the Irish is rubbing off on us this St. Patrick's Day, giving us a weekend filled with fun things to do. Folks line the streets to cheer on the festive Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade and County Ventura St. Patrick's Day Parade. Green also heralds the budding of spring, as does the return of Butterfly Season at Kidspace. And for our pot of gold at the end of the weekend: Museums Free-for-All day, with dozens of Southland institutions opening their doors to welcome us in for free.

From St. Patrick's Day to early Easter celebrations, March springs ahead with things to do in Los Angeles with kids. Don’t miss our favorite activities taking place in Los Angeles this month.

Lucky you: Families can celebrate St. Patrick's Day with parades in Hermosa Beach and Ventura. More parades will march into the month, with the Swallows Day Parade in San Juan Capistrano and the rescheduled Golden Dragon Lunar New Year Parade in Chinatown. Easter celebrations begin at Irvine Park Railroad and Underwood Family Farms, and wild fun bounces into Griffith Park at the LA Zoo's Spring Fling.

These are just a few of our favorite things to do in Los Angeles this March—we're adding more events to the Los Angeles Events Calendar every day.

Presidents Day weekend is jam-packed in Los Angeles. The long weekend starts with Valentine's Day on Friday; kids can pitch in at Big Sunday's Valentinemania to help make cards and goody bags for people across the city. Starting Saturday, Kidspace reminds us we are Wired for Wonder with its new multisensory immersive maze experience. The Harlem Globetrotters swoop into the Intuit Dome on Sunday with a show that entertains, amazes, and redefines the laws of physics. LA families can spend Presidents Day Monday at one of the two local Presidential Libraries or cheer on the rescheduled Kingdom Day Parade.

MLK Weekend 2025 in Los Angeles: 16 Best Things To Do With Kids

Looking for the best things to do in Los Angeles during MLK weekend? Here are some events and activities to add to your list for the holiday weekend.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is 'What are you doing for others?'" This year, the sentiment resonates even more profoundly as Los Angeles faces the aftermath and recovery from devastating county-wide fires. National MLK Day of Service events, such as Big Sunday's 13th Annual MLK Day Clothing Drive and the LA Works MLK Day of Service, offer families a chance to spend a day giving back in honor Dr. King's memory, and in support of our fellow Angelenos.

Additionally, Lunar New Year observances in the Southland offer opportunities for reflection and renewal. Families can ring in Year of the Snake at two-day events in Monterey Park and Rancho Cucamonga.

Our hearts and thoughts are with those affected by the fires. Please check venue websites before attending any events this weekend for updates on possible event cancellations and business closures as a result of the air quality and fire conditions. Here are ways to help with the Los Angeles wildfires.

PRIDE Month in Los Angeles is a family affair!

The Southland celebrates the full spectrum of the LGBTQI+ rainbow, with many inclusive, family-friendly Pride events, including parades, picnics, block parties, and drag queen storytimes. This year's Pride Month celebrations include Pull My Finger, a Family Pride comedy show, Pride Night at the Aquarium of the Pacific, and Disney Pride in Concert with the South Coast Chorale. After-hours celebrations at our theme parks remind us that Pride is Universal and nothing sparkles like Disneyland After Dark.

As always, the stars show up for LA Pride:  Star Trek's George Takei is the Grand Marshall of the 54th Annual LA Pride Parade; Ricky Martin headlines 2024 LA Pride in the Park, and Pickle is the belle of the ball at Drag Queen Story Hour at the Academy Museum.

Read on for our list of the best Pride events for families and children in Los Angeles.
