Affordable Date Night Childcare That Helps Others Too

5/14/09 - By Anna Fader

Finding good babysitters for an evening date night can be hard, but there's one solution that's a total no-brainer. Kids for a Cause hosts monthly date night drop-off evening childcare events run by NYU and Columbia University students to raise money for Baby's First Home, a charity that helps provide shelter for NYC homeless teen mothers. And they are Pay-What-you-Wish.

Talk about Win-Win! You get inexpensive, fun babysitting by great college sitters and get to help young mothers and their baby's at the same time.

Kids for a Cause's monthly pajama parties are held at Playgarden, the new(ish) eco-friendly play space in Tribeca. The sitters are all vetted and provide activities, a movie and fun in the cool PlayGarden playspace. To top it off there is no fee for Kids for a Cause. It's open to everyone, but you are encouraged to make a donation ($40 is the suggested donation).

The next Kids for a Cause event is this Friday, May 15th, 2009 from 6-9pm and has a gourmet theme. Kids will watch Ratatouille, design aprons, decorate cupcakes, and then run it off in the playspace while you enjoy a nice, quiet dinner or evening out.
