The 51st annual Harlem Week returns with live and virtual experiences celebrating the people, arts, culture, entertainment, and history of Harlem, centered around the theme, “Black Constellation: Mapping Our Joy, Dreams, and Liberation."

Marquee events include:

Summer Streets Celebrating HARLEM WEEK (Saturdays, August 2, 9 & 16)
A Saturday of non-stop fun on the streets of Harlem! New Yorkers and visitors are invited to come together for the things they love doing, including biking, walking, running, jumping, meditating, skipping, skating, dancing, and enjoying live music (7am-3pm; 109th Street & Park Avenue – 125th Street & Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd)

National Night Out (Tuesday, August 5)
Enjoy barbeque and bounce houses, face painting, food, and fun.
(3pm-9pm; 135th St. bet Adam Clayton Powell Jr & Fred. Douglass Blvd)
(4pm-6pm; Morningside Avenue between West 125th & 126th Streets)
(5pm-9pm; Adam Clayton Powell Jr State Office Building 163 W 125th Street)

Great Jazz on the Great Hill (August 9): Bring a picnic, blanket, and dancing shoes for Great Jazz on the Great Hill, featuring live music and swing dancing in a beautiful park setting. (4-7pm; Great Hill in Central Park West)

A Great Day In Harlem (August 10): The day begins at 12pm with the opening of the International Village featuring vendors and exhibitors with items for sale ranging from arts & crafts, jewelry, clothing, unique accessories, international foods, and more. Entertainment from the stage is presented in four segments. Artz, Rootz & Rhythm featuring local, community, and emerging performers of varying genres; The Gospel Caravan featuring local, national, and international gospel performers; and the day closes with the Concert Under Under the Stars featuring national and international performers performing backed by the Harlem Music Festival All-Star Band led by “Music Director to the stars” Ray Chew, with special salutes to Roberta Flack and Kool and the Gang. (1-7pm; Ulysses S Grant National Memorial)

NYC Children's Festival (August 16-17, 12pm-5pm)
Howard Bennet Playground on Q 135th Street
Kids between ages 5 to 12 years and their family members enjoy storytelling, children’s entertainment (performances showcasing tap dancers, dance troupes, step shows, hip hop, theater, poetry, vocalists, etc.), arts & crafts, double dutch competitions, face painting, technology information, information on health services, and more.

Summer in the City (Saturday, August 16, 1-6pm)
West 135th Street between St. Nicholas Avenue and 5th Avenue
“Summer In The City” offers a full day of activities. With performances from local, national, and international artists, the highly anticipated adult urban fashion show, health testing stations, and hundreds of food vendors, arts & crafts, music, jewelry, hats, sculptors, corporate exhibitors, and games.

Alex Trebek Harlem Children’s Spelling Bee (Saturday, August 16, 2-4pm)
 Schomburg Center (515 Malcolm X Blvd.)
Kids in grades 1– 5 show off their spelling brilliance and win prizes. Everyone’s a winner!

Harlem Day (Sunday, August 17, 1-7pm)
West 135th Street between St. Nicholas Avenue and 5th Avenue
Harlem Week concludes with three stages of entertainment, Sundae Sermon Dance Party, the back-to-school fashion show, the Harlem Health Village, Harlem Broadway Row, performances from Broadway productions, local, national and international artists in various musical genres from Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Reggae, Soca, Latin and more. Plus hundreds of food vendors, arts & crafts, music, jewelry, hats, sculptors, corporate exhibitors, and games.
