If you have a Harry Potter fan at home, these are some pretty exciting times. What with the new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie out now and the final book in paper back. But for New York City kids, of course, there are always more ways to get involved in any passion than just viewing it through mass media. If you are a Harry Potter fan in New York, Harry Potter can come to life for you in lots of fun ways.

Here are some upcoming events for Harry Potter fans:

Watson Adventures’ Wizard School Scavenger Hunt
In celebration of the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Watson Adventures is hosting a few scavenger hunts that meld art and wizardry. Participants will search the Metropolitan Museum of Art looking for works that echo the characters, places and enchanted objects from the Harry Potter books. What a fun way to explore the Museum. The hunt is designed for kids aged 7 and up to do with an adult partner. Watson Adventures Wizard School Scavenger Hunts will take place on Saturday, July 18, 4 to 6 p.m and Saturday, July 25 and cost $29.50 for kids and $38.50 for adults, including museum admission. TIckets must be purchased in advance from WatsonAdventures.com

NYC Harry Potter Fan Club Quidditch Match
You don't have to be a member of this Harry Potter fan club (oops, I mean the Group that Shall Not be Named) to cheer them on (or possibly join in) at this weekend's monthly Quidditch Match. The game takes place at the Riverside Park Fields (103rd and Riverside, left of the dog park) at 3pm on Sunday, July 19th. Don't expect them to be really floating, but do expect fun costumes and a rowdy game. This group hosts more events too. Find out more about it at hp-nyc.org.
