Ocean Institute Maritime Festival

The Ocean Institute on Dana Point hosts the 41st annual Maritime Festival. Kids can tour tall ships, experience a mermaid breakfast, meet pirates, learn about marine life and pan for gold, enjoy carnival games and bounce houses, take part in cannon battles at sea, and more.
Free experiences at the Festival include the Pirate Adventure Show, Sailor Camp, Peddler's Village offering food and goods for sale,and a beer garden. Some activities within those areas may charge a fee. The free Pirate Adventure Shows can be viewed from the shore.
A Festival Adventure Pass gives access to Ocean Institute’s Main Campus, and the Maddie James Seaside Learning Center and Historical Wharf (where you can tour the tall ships).
Ticketed experiences include cannon battles, mermaids and matey'breakfast, mermaid meet-and-greet, School for Scallywags, mermaid swim shows, and mermaid tea. Guests can board tall ships to experience a mock Cannon Battle at sea.
Parking onsite is very limited.There is free parking at Dana Hills High School (33333 Golden Lantern) with a free shuttle running every 25-30 minutes.
