Sat Aug 16, 2025
4:00pm to 7:30pm ET
Age: All
Price: Free
The 13th annual Aarti Hindu Lamp Ceremony returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pebble Beach. Guests are invited to decorate palm leaf lamps and release them along the East River. Special guest artists are in attendance displaying their works.
Aarti is a tradition in which an offering of light is made on the river banks, honoring the nurturing power of the river and signifying purification. The lamps are made from palm bowls, painted with traditional ceremonial colors, with a wick made of cotton dipped in ghee or oil.
No registration is required, just walk up and join in.
