Bomba de Aquí, led by Brendaliz Cepeda (Granddaughter of the “Father of Bomba” NEA Heritage fellow Rafael Cepeda) and current SNEAP Mentor Saul Peñaloza, will be teaching a free, family friendly workshop on Bomba Drumming and Dance.
In this interactive workshop, they will educate participants about the history of Afro-Puerto Rican music, foster understanding of the richness of Puerto Rican arts, and most importantly encourage attendees to join in with dancing and drumming. All are welcome! Instruction is in both Spanish and English.
Bomba de Aquí is a dance and music company that performs and teaches Afro-Puerto Rican traditions in throughout western Massachusetts and central Connecticut area.
(Skirts will be provided for children, adults are encouraged, but not required, to bring either a scarf or skirt of their own.)
