2024 Boston Common Tree Lighting
It's the 83rd Annual Boston Common Tree Lighting! Hosted by Mayor Michelle Wu and Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, marking the 52nd year that Nova Scotia has given a tree to the people of Boston as thanks for relief efforts following the explosion of a munitions ship on December 6, 1917.
The ceremony includes lighting Boston's official Christmas tree and trees through the Commons and Public Garden. The holiday lights throughout both parks will light up shortly before 8 pm, and Santa Claus and Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, will make a special appearance. The ceremony will close with a pyrotechnic display.
