1. If your husks are dried out, soak them in warm water for ten minutes to soften, then pat as dry as possible.

2. Gather an even number of husks (6-12) together and tie one end with twine then fold the husks down in pairs so that the tied end becomes inside what will be the head.

3. Tie one piece of twine to make a neck and another to make a waist. You can stick another husk through the body for form arms. If you want to have your doll wearing pants you can separate the legs and tie them off. The dolls may take a day or two to dry our completely. Once dry you can glue on yarn or raffia for hair, paint them, or make them clothes from bits of fabric. If you don't have corn husks, you can do this same project with yarn. Just cut a dozen eight to ten inch lengths of yarn, tie at one end and treat just as you would the corn husks.
