Children's theater generally makes the list of things to do with our little ones, so finding a new theater with appropriate shows for the under 10 crowd is always a treat. Most of us have heard something to the tune (no pun intended) of research showing that music is to the brain what physical exercise is to the body. I know my child loves music, and although old school rhetoric mentions kids should not start formal lessons in music until the age of five, one has to admit, classes are a great way to nurture children and prepare them to share and learn in a class setting at any age. It just so happens my child's birthday is coming up soon. I had heard interesting things about the Toy District and deals one can get there on birthday supplies, so I decided to take advantage of living near Downtown and go for a stroll through LA's well known Toy District -- located just east of S. Los Angeles Street, between 3rd St and 4th St. in downtown Los Angeles. Is it a must-stop for party shopping? And is it worth the effort?

With summer right around the corner, parents have a lot of planning on their plates to ensure a fun-filled time away from school.
