Gathering the crew at a restaurant instead allows everyone to be together on Thanksgiving without all the hassle of cooking and cleaning. Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants open on Thanksgiving in DC and its surrounding areas where you can do just that.

Here are 15 restaurants open on Thanksgiving in DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia in 2025. Not only are they all kid-friendly, but many even offer special pricing for kids ages 12 and under. If you see something you like, make a reservation ASAP, as spots fill up quickly.

1. Founding Farmers & Distillers & 2. Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers

Founding Farmers & Distillers in Chinatown and Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers in Georgetown both offer a three-course prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner. It includes a choice between seven main entrees—turkey, spiral ham, fried chicken, whitefish, honey-glazed salmon, veggie loaf, and prime rib (for an extra $8)—plus a variety of sides, butternut squash soup or salad for appetizer, and nine options for dessert. That means everyone will find something they love!

2025 Prices: $48.50 per adult, $23.50 per child 12 and under

3. Lincoln

For those who want a true Thanksgiving feast (and who doesn't?), Lincoln is providing an all-you-can-eat carving station with turkey and gravy, beef tenderloin, and maple mustard-glazed Atlantic salmon, plus endless sides such as mac and cheese, cheddar grits, mashed potatoes, and more. Each guest can also choose one of four appetizers and four desserts.

2025 Prices: $74 per adult, $30 per child 12 and under

4. Unconventional Diner

Enjoy a Thanksgiving spread of modern comfort food at this downtown hot spot. The meal includes roast turkey with gravy, cranberry relish, cornbread muffins, mushroom-sage stuffing, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and mushroom bisque. A limited selection of a la carte items from the regular menu is also available for picky eaters!

5. Via Sophia 

This authentic Italian osteria inside downtown's Hamilton Hotel is serving a three-course Thanksgiving menu that begins with your choice between three appetizer, a turkey feast or grilled branzino for the main course, and tiramisu or ricotta cheesecake for dessert. Kids can enjoy a mini turkey feast, a burger, pasta, or chicken fingers followed by ice cream. 

2025 Prices: $49 per adult, $19 per child under 12

6. Teddy & The Bully Bar

President Theodore Roosevelt loved simple American comfort food, and the Thanksgiving menu at his namesake, Teddy & The Bully Bar, certainly reflects that. Enjoy an endless carving station with turkey, prime rib, and wild salmon, plus endless helpings of 10 sides including mac and cheese, caramelized yams, and stuffing. Guests can also choose one of five appetizers and four desserts.

7. Founding Farmers — Potomac (also in DC and in Alexandria, Reston, & Tysons, VA)

Founding Farmers is a go-to favorite for many families. At all five locations (including the newest in Alexandria, VA), enjoy the same three-course prix fixe dinner that's offered at its sibling restaurants, Farmers & Distillers and Farmers Fishers Bakers, as described above.

8. Alexandra's American Fusion — Ellicott City

Want to go home stuffed this Thanksgiving? Feast on a buffet at Alexandra's that includes turkey and gravy, bourbon-glazed ham, prime rib, and herb-crusted salmon, along with 11 sides and five desserts. The sides include kid-friendly items like mac and cheese and chicken tender and tots. All non-alcoholic beverages are included.

2025 Prices: $58 per adult, $28 per child ages 4-11, kids 3 and under free

9. Twin Arch Tavern — Mount Airy, MD

Looking for a more casual holiday? Twin Arch Tavern is serving up a family-friendly Thanksgiving buffet. For two hours families can feast on a spread of turkey and gravy, roast beef, ham, salmon, nearly a dozen sides (including mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green bean almondine, and vegetable stuffing), and pumpkin and apple pie. Yum!

2025 Prices: $45 per person, $15 per child 12 and under

10. Seasons 52 — Columbia and North Bethesda (also in McLean, VA)

All three locations of Seasons 52, which offer seasonal menus and 52 wines by the glass, are open on Thanksgiving. Families can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast that includes turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, brioche and sage stuffing, green beans, mashed butternut squash, cranberry relish, and pumpkin pie.

11. Gadsby's Tavern — Alexandria

Kids will enjoy feeking like they're having an 1800s Thanksgiving meal at this historic restaurant in Old Town Alexandria. Gadsby's Tavern is serving up a three-course menu on Thanksgiving that includes a choice of peanut soup or salad to start, turkey and ham with all the fixings or Chilean sea bass for the main course, and pumpkin or pecan pie for dessert. Bread, cornbread, and non-alcoholic beverages are also included with the meal. 

2025 Prices: $75 per person, $37.50 per child 12 and under

12. Wildfire — McLean

Thanksgiving dinner is served family-style at Wildfire, much like it would be at home! The meal includes two appetizers, two salads, two entrees (options include roasted turkey, cedar-planked salmon, and roast tenderloin of beef), two sides (like mashed potatoes and sweet potato-pecan casserole), and two desserts (choose from four kinds of pie and triple-layer chocolate cake).

13. Theismann's Restaurant — Alexandria

For many people, Thanksgiving and football go hand in hand. Head to Theismann's to watch a game while enjoying a huge Thanksgiving buffet including items everyone will love. The carving station features turkey, spiral ham, and NY strip steak. There's also salmon, chicken, pasta, mashed potatoes, fries, desserts, and so much more.

14. L'Auberge Chez Francois — Alexandria

Want to splurge this Thanksgiving? Enjoy this French restaurant's traditional seven-course dinner that includes a classic organic turkey with all the trimmings, plus 11 other main-course options such as Maine lobster and rack of lamb. If that sounds too fancy for your kids, don't worry—they can order off a special children's menu that includes pasta, grilled chicken breast, and other simpler fare along with turkey. 

2025 Prices: $136-$147.50 per adult, $75 per child 12 and under

15. Vola's Dockside Grill — Alexandria

Enjoy gorgeous waterfront views while feasting on a three-course Thanksgiving meal at Vola's. Start with an appetizer; choose turkey with brioche stuffing and cranberry chutney, braised lamb shank, or chorizo-stuffed lobster tail for the main course; and finish with pumpkin creme brulee or apple-cinnamon cheesecake for dessert. Kids can order their own, child-friendly three-course feast. The restaurant's regular menu is also available.
