Preschool Craft: Valentine's Day Doily Prints
Valentine's Day is all about sharing love and treats with others. This heartfelt craft uses doilies as stencils to create beautiful lace-like patterns. You can use this technique on treat bags to make classroom valentines, on cards or even on t-shirts if you use fabric paint. Make them in just three easy steps that even the littlest Valentines can do themselves.

Materials:
Paper Doilies
Paper Treat Bags
Ink or Paint (in red, white, pink, or other Valentine's Day colors)
Sponges (we used sponge brushes, but you can also cut off a corner of a clean kitchen sponge)
1. Using your sponge, cover one side of your doily with ink or paint.
2. Place the doily paint side down onto the treat bag.
3. Carefully pull up the doily to reveal your print.
Printmaking is a wonderful activity that allows kids to try out all sorts of techniques to create lovely patterns and textures. We tinkered with ink, paint, and all different shapes and sizes of doilies to create our treat bags. Show us what you make. Share it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag @mommypoppins so we can see your creations, too!
