Scientist Saturdays
During Scientist Saturdays, participants engage in hands-on demonstrations and learn of scientists’ exciting research. At this session, Drexel University graduate student Laura Aycock shares her knowledge of algae.
Participants get a first-hand experience viewing algae samples under a microscope and identifying different species. In addition, children learn how algae are used to help determine water quality and aid in environmental monitoring of aquatic systems. This event is free with general admission and no registration is needed.
Metered parking is available near the museum. Some metered parking is free on Sundays but read signs carefully to make sure. Nearby parking lots offer discounted rates but be mindful as some have special requirements to obtain the discount.
