EXPERT HAND-HOLDER: FInd out what are the available resources and how to navigate the system to get services for children with special needs and disabilities.
NERVE SAVER: Robin Aronow from School Search, Inc. will review the process, procedures and timeline for applying to both public and private elementary schools in New York City, and factors to consider in making school choices. General education, gifted and talented, dual language, co-ed vs. single sex, progressive vs. traditional options, diversity and financial aid will be discussed. In addition, testing for both public and private school admission will be covered.
LIFE ENHANCER: A workshop on developmental discipline to help parents learn to customize their responses to "misbehavior" appropriate to each developmental stage and situation.
LIFE SAVER: Kim West, The Sleep Lady, imparts wisdom in developing healthy sleep habits and solving sleep problems.
JUST PLAIN COOL: Outdoor and nature resources in NYC presented by Wildlife Conservation Society educators from each of the NYC institutions . Gain a better understanding of how to use city institutions and wildlife to motivate learning.
