Launch trampoline park has landed in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, transforming the old Modell’s space on 86th Street into a high-energy indoor playground that’s already drawing crowds of local families. With wall-to-wall trampolines, giant slides, a climbing wall, and arcade games, Launch brings a much-needed indoor entertainment destination to South Brooklyn—especially welcome as colder months approach and parents look for active, weatherproof places to let kids burn off energy.

I visited with my 10-year-old son and his buddy (both seasoned trampoline park goers) on a weekend afternoon, curious to see how Launch Bay Ridge compares to other indoor play spaces in the city. From the outside, the space still looks like the big-box store it once was, but inside, it’s been completely transformed into a multilevel, multi-attraction facility that’s clearly designed with maximum movement in mind. The ceilings are high, the lighting is bright, and the soundtrack pumps out a steady stream of kid-friendly pop hits that add to the energy.

Getting Started at Launch Trampoline Park

Upon arrival, we were directed to check in at the front counter, where we completed our waiver (filling it out online in advance is a time-saver). Every jumper needs a pair of grip socks, which cost extra, but are required for safety. Once we were geared up, we were assigned color-coded wristbands for our chosen package that included 90 minutes of jump time (plus one add-on activity)—just enough to experience the full range of offerings without feeling overwhelmed.

The staff at check-in were helpful and organized, but I’d recommend arriving early during peak times, like after school and weekends, to avoid waiting in line. Launch offers a non-jumping Parent Pass, which gives access to the mezzanine-level viewing area. This is great for caregivers who want to observe without getting in on the action—especially if they have little ones in tow.

Fun Attractions at Launch Trampoline Park

The main trampoline court is the centerpiece of the space and where most kids make a beeline after check-in. The mats are firm and clean, and the layout includes angled bounce zones, individual jumping platforms, and open runways that are perfect for flips (for older kids) or just free jumping. Just off the main court, kids can shoot hoops in the trampoline basketball zone or take part in dodgeball matches on a separate court with padded boundaries.

Launch Trampoline Park: Jousting area
The padded jousting area was a favorite spot among our kid testers at Launch Trampoline Park!

Some of the standout features for my son and his friend were the foam pit jousting area, the climbing wall, and the two large slides. The climbing wall provides a vertical challenge and is supervised by staff to help with spotting. There is also a large spiral slide and a super fast multi-lane slide where kids can "catch air" before landing in a giant foam pit—a clear favorite for my son. Airtrack Basketball was also a hit, with an inflatable and bouncy court that allows for high-flying dunks and a unique basketball experience.

Between attractions, many children gravitated to the arcade zone, which features classic claw machines, video games, and a small VR setup on the lower level. The arcade and VR may or may not be included depending on the package purchased.

A Toddler-Friendly Space for Little Ones

Though Launch Bay Ridge is best suited for kids ages 5 and up, there is a very small but dedicated “Little Launchers” non-jumping play area on the upper level, designed for kids 0-2. The upper level also houses the entrance to the spiral slide and an indoor playground, offering a small climbing structure and slide that are great for first-timers or more cautious kids. Older children (ie, my kid) were also having a blast playing hide and seek and tag in this area, making it perhaps a slightly more rambunctious space than it was designed to be.

Birthday Parties at Launch Bay Ridge

Launch also offers several birthday party packages, making it an appealing option for families looking to host active, all-in-one celebrations. Parties take place in private rooms that are available in themed styles (Think: glow-in-the-dark or neon party vibes), and each party includes a mix of jump time, arcade credits, and time in the party room for pizza and cake.

Packages vary in price depending on the day and number of guests, but most include setup and cleanup by the Launch team, dedicated party hosts, and digital invitations. During our visit, we spotted a few parties in progress, and were impressed by the energetic, attentive staff–though the volume levels can get high when multiple celebrations are happening at once. If you're booking for a weekend, it's worth reserving well in advance!

Launch Trampoline Park: Posing with the Launch Mascot
Launch offers birthday parties in addition to drop-in play options across a variety of packages.

Parents can customize party options with add-ons like extra jump time, upgraded food, or party favors. From what we observed, the Launch staff did a good job keeping groups moving smoothly from activity to food to goodbyes, which is no small feat with 10 or more excited kids bouncing off the walls (literally).

Helpful Tips For a Visit to Launch Bay Ridge

When everyone is ready for a recharge, there’s a snack bar on-site serving pizza, pretzels, drinks, and other kid-friendly options, though it did get crowded during our visit. Wait times for food were a little long, so I recommend feeding kids before you arrive or packing snacks for afterward. Lockers are available for storing shoes and personal items, and bathrooms were clean and easily accessible.

There are staff members scattered around the facility, but due to the crowds, it's still necessary to keep an eye on your kid, especially if they're younger. We visited during peak hours and noticed the ebb and flow of birthday parties coming in and out. One staff member recommended calling before a weekend visit to see when birthday parties are booked and timing your visit around them.

Overall, Launch Trampoline Park is a fantastic addition to Bay Ridge’s family landscape. It offers a wide variety of ways for kids to move, play, and challenge themselves—all under one roof. It’s absolutely worth a visit for families seeking indoor fun with something for everyone.
