Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Flatiron North Plaza
Mon Apr 8, 2024
12:00pm to 3:30pm ET
Age: 4 and up
Price: FREE
Location:
Flatiron North Plaza
Flatiron Nomad hosts an afternoon full of science and family-friendly activities. Participate in a family-friendly activity led by the National Museum of Mathematics: can a pea eclipse a beachball, or a grain of sand eclipse the sun? Experiment with eclipsing spheres of different sizes!
Scientists and staff from the Simons Foundation in the Flatiron North Plaza help families safely take a closer look at the sun before it is eclipsed by the moon and solar telescopes are set up to look through.
Innovative LightSound devices convert the variation of light intensity during the solar eclipse into sound and offer a more accessible experience for individuals who are blind or low-vision.
