Hollywood Schoolhouse

Hollywood Schoolhouse feels like home. At this independent non-profit, every child is known, valued, and encouraged to grow at their own pace through inspired learning and fearless curiosity. From Preschool through 6th Grade, students emerge academically strong, artistically proud, physically active, and socially grounded.

Since 1945, HSH has offered a rare kind of community—warm, diverse, and deeply connected—where every child feels safe, celebrated, and part of something meaningful. The purposeful, joyful academics offered spark curiosity, develop confidence, and honor each child’s readiness to grow and succeed. Inquiry-based exploration empowers students to ask questions, pursue their natural wonder, and think boldly. Every day is an opportunity to practice kindness, build empathy, and grow into a confident, compassionate, and grounded individual. With a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, each child is given the opportunity to grow at their own pace.

Students who matriculate from Hollywood Schoolhouse go on to prestigious secondary institutions such as Harvard-Westlake, Marlborough, Brentwood, Campbell Hall, and Oakwood, to name a few of many. Colleges attended by prior HSH students include Yale, Brown, Wesleyan, NYU, Boston University, UC Berkeley, USC, and American University. The 80-year legacy and network of Hollywood Schoolhouse alumni is far-reaching and extends throughout the professional world in a multitude of facets. Every child who leaves Hollywood Schoolhouse is academically and social-emotionally prepared for their next steps, but more importantly, their successes are measured not only by their confidence, poise, and academic strength, but by the truly exceptional citizens they become.
