Best Farms on Long Island with Family-Friendly Entertainment
Long Island has no shortage of farms on Long Island, but not all farms are created equal. From petting zoos and playgrounds to festivals and u-pick, the farms we've hand-picked below are sure to make a family outing unforgettable.
My family particularly likes farms where we get to spend substantial time feeding and petting the animals, as well as farms with interactive play equipment–and LI has some great options for both.

Tips for Visiting Long Island Farms with Young Kids
Pack snacks or lunch. While some of the farms have food stands and farm stands, not all do. Many of the farms are in full sun, so if it's particularly sunny, slap on the sunscreen.
Know your kids' preferences. My son loves sensory experiences, while my daughter loves animal experiences. Each farm offers unique entertainment options. While some may have lots of animals and interactive opportunities, others pack on the fun with play equipment.
As always, you'll want to check the farm's website for hours, special events, and pricing information, as well as weather closures.
