Long Island Children's Museum

In October, the Museum's AdvoKids program celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day by learning about those who originally inhabited the land LICM sits on.

Participants will focus on learning about the Indigenous people of Long Island (the Island of Shells), the Shinnecock tribe, and then create a turtle craft, an essential part of the story of this Indigenous tribe.

About the monthly program: AdvoKids is a monthly series focusing on children learning what it means to be an advocate for themselves and others. Adults will learn how they can support their child’s self-advocacy efforts, which promote confidence, resilience, and empathy.
