1. Urban Air Adventure Park - Heights & various locations
The Urban Air in the Heights is a one-stop-shop for family fun, as the newest Houston Urban Air location. Toddlers will love the designated soft-play area designed just for them, while bigger kids can bounce, climb, and soar across trampolines, warrior courses, and even a ropes course. With its massive indoor playground, Play Space feels like a kid’s dream. Toddlers have their own separate play zone, safely tucked away from the big kids. The recently opened, state-of-the-art playground at The Commons in Hermann Park has quickly become a Houston favorite. The toddler section includes shaded areas and smaller climbing structures, while older kids flock to the massive climbing towers, boulders, and water play. Teens can enjoy the pedal boats on the lake or take a wander around the Japanese Garden. Parents will appreciate the thoughtful design, seating, and the fact that it’s all mostly free. 5. Buffalo Bayou Park - Edge of Downtown
If your family loves the outdoors, Buffalo Bayou Park is a gem, and we have a huge list of favorite activities for you. There are playgrounds with toddler-friendly equipment, skateboarding areas for older kids, biking and walking trails, and kayak rentals for adventurous teens. Parents can enjoy skyline views while getting in some fresh air. The park also frequently hosts family events and art installations, giving everyone something new to discover each visit.
6. Discovery Green - Downtown

For families who want a little bit of everything, Kemah Boardwalk is a great day trip. Younger kids can ride the carousel or Ferris wheel, while thrill-seeking teens take on the Boardwalk Bullet roller coaster, with speeds of 50+mph. Parents can enjoy seafood with a view and relax while the kids burn through ride tickets.
