Go Bananas! Festival at Houston Botanic Garden
The popular Go Bananas! festival returns just after the Houston Botanic Garden’s fifth birthday, making this year’s event an even bigger celebration. This family-friendly annual festival highlights the many edible and ornamental varieties of Musa—the banana plant, known as the world’s largest herb—featured in the Garden’s living collections.
Festival activities include banana tastings, a local vendor market, and opportunities to meet with the Garden’s horticulturists to learn tips for growing bananas at home. Guests can also purchase select banana plants from the Garden’s collection.
Families can enjoy a live performance by AndyRoo, a DJ, craft stations, “Banana Brainiac” trivia, and slime-themed activities presented by the Sloomoo Institute. The popular banana bread baking competition returns, this year featuring entries from local bakeries judged by a selected panel. Each attendee receives a commemorative lapel pin to celebrate the Garden’s milestone birthday.
Admission includes access to the entire Garden, including the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden and its interactive water play area.
