Arts District Houston invites residents and visitors to celebrate creativity, culture, and community this October during Arts District Month 2025. Anchored in Houston’s historic First and Sixth Ward neighborhoods, this free, family-friendly celebration blends art, history, and neighborhood charm with the city’s most vibrant mix of cultural and culinary experiences.

With a curated lineup of exhibitions, performances, workshops, and activations throughout the month, guests can experience Houston’s largest concentration of working artists, creatives, and other local business owners, more than 600 in total, while supporting local restaurants, breweries, and small businesses. In addition to daily events, activities, and landmarks to visit, each weekend in October, “Inside the Yards,” at Sawyers Yards will take place, featuring a series of immersive, artist-led events.

Designated as a Cultural District by the Texas Commission on the Arts, Arts District Houston is home to more than 600 local business owners, of which 400 are working artists across Sawyer Yards. Rooted in the historic First and Sixth Wards, the district’s preserved architecture, murals, and walkable streets reflect a living history on the ancestral lands of the Akokisa and Atakapa-Ishak peoples.

Through collaborations with local businesses, public art activations, and cultural programming, Arts District Month continues to weave together Houston’s creative economy with community connection, while shining a spotlight on the city as a growing destination for arts and culture. Arts District Month coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month and National Arts and Humanities Month, amplifying the diverse voices and stories that shape Houston’s cultural fabric.
