What to Expect at Camden Park
When you first enter Camden Park, the sheer size of the space stands out—it spans 3.4 acres and features a 30,000-square-foot activity lawn that feels open and inviting. As a parent, I naturally made a beeline for the play area to check it out firsthand.
At the heart of the play space is a striking, custom-designed climbing structure in the shape of a colorful hummingbird. It’s both artistic and functional! There is also a climbing wall and a concrete slide (that is made with materials to stay cool—even under the Texas sun!). Nearby, kids can spin to their hearts' content on a modern version of a merry-go-round.

Camden Park also features a water play zone, built with boulders sourced from Texas, where kids can climb, splash, and engage with interactive water features. Tucked within the children’s area is a shaded “reading room” stocked with books, games, and crafts—perfect for a quieter moment. An adventure path invites exploration, winding its way up to a rooftop terrace that overlooks the entire play area. The terrace offers comfortable seating and tables, making it a great spot for parents to relax while keeping an eye on the action below.
Beyond the Play Area at Camden Park
Camden Park was thoughtfully designed for all ages, making it a destination the whole family can enjoy. So after exploring the play area, I wandered over to the game zone, which features ping pong tables, foosball, cornhole, and even a piano—plenty to keep kids and adults entertained.

Across the expansive activity lawn, you’ll find swinging benches and wide-open green space, perfect for laying out a blanket and enjoying a picnic. The large pavilion hosts live music and performances, creating a great atmosphere for relaxing and spending time together outdoors.
One of the standout perks for parents is Sunday Press, the on-site café serving up fresh pastries, salads, sandwiches, and expertly brewed coffee—because let’s be honest, having access to good coffee at a playground is a total win. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a comfortable stop year-round.
As you loop around the café, you’ll come across a fitness area and a well-designed dog park with separate spaces for large and small dogs—yet another thoughtful detail in a park built with the whole community in mind.
