Take a break from the heat of summer and enjoy a 30-minute scenic train ride through the Naugatuck River Valley and over the Thomaston Dam. Cool off with your friends and family this summer in one of our historic passenger cars as you enjoy a large scoop of ice cream.

On our journey there will be a scavenger hunt, which will include a prize upon our return to Thomaston Station.

Passengers will have the choice between Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Excursions will feature Connecticut Made Ice Cream from the Nutmeg Fudge Company of Torrington! Ice Cream is included in the ticket price! This excursion is geared towards families looking for a sort engaging train ride. Tickets sell out for these excursions so we recommend purchasing them in advance as we may not be able to sell any walk ups on the day of the excursion.
