Worcester On The Moon
On Saturday, July 20th, Worcester will showcase its historic innovation with a series of events and exhibits.
From City Hall Common to local galleries, museums and cafes, visitors can participate in space themed activities, view authentic moon landing technology relics, and see creative art and technology installations. Participating organizations include Worcester Pop Up Gallery, Worcester Historical Museum, City Hall Common, Technocopia, and Clark Robert H. Goddard Library.
Worcester is home to innovation and manufacturing that moved the needle in extra-planetary exploration. The first rocket was launched in Auburn and was developed in Worcester. Apollo 11 moon landing technology, including the suits astronauts wore, and the headset Neil Armstrong used to communicate with Earth, were made in Worcester.
