Boston Kids Comics Fest
Explore “kid friendly-comics,” graphic novels, and hybrid books during this second annual event that features a book fair and exhibitors.
Enjoy a range of hands-on workshops on comic creation, drawing, using comics in the classroom and your library, and more.
This year’s special guests include: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comic artist Erica Henderson, a two-time Eisner Award winner who drew the first 37 Squirrel Girl comics for Marvel and has worked on Jughead; Raul the Third, who is the Award-winning illustrator behind the popular graphic novels Lowriders in Space and Lowriders to the Center of the Earth. He also works on the SpongeBob Squarepants comic-book. Joel Christian Gill, the author and illustrator behind graphic novels that share fantastic, real-life stories of black Americans, including a kid-friendly graphic novel about stunt motorcyclist Bessie Stringfield.
Food trucks Bon Me, Melt, and Chicks and Dogs will be on site.
The event is accessible via the MBTA Chestnut Hill Line with a shuttle bus running between the station and Pine Manor College.
