Celebrate! with Benkadi Drum and Dance
The vibrant and multicultural Benkadi Drum and Dance group returns with an exciting performance honoring Juneteenth. Featuring new choreography inspired by traditional West African rhythms and movements, the group brings vivid costumes, interpretive dance, and opportunities for audience participation to the stage.
Part of the JFK Library’s Celebrate! series, this program highlights the rich cultural diversity of the United States through the arts and is designed for children ages 5 and up and their families. The series reflects the Kennedys’ commitment to the arts and their role in a democratic society.
Children are invited to sit on a carpeted floor with their caregivers during the performance. Additional seating is provided for individuals with disabilities, seniors, and others who prefer or require a chair. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is an inclusive program open to all. A Flexible Calming Space (Quiet Room) will be available for those who may need a sensory break during the event. Free parking is available at the JFK Library.
Admission is free, thanks to the generous support of the Martin Richard Foundation and the Mass Cultural Council. As a federal building, the JFK Library conducts security screenings upon entry. All visitors must pass through a metal detector, and all bags are subject to inspection. Further details are available on the library’s website.
