This public green space with playful objects and inviting spaces is designed for people of all ages.

The Camp at The Works

The Camp is an awesome green space located close to many family-friendly Atlanta outdoor spots, such as Westside Park and the Atlanta BeltLine. The Camp is a one-acre area nestled under the trees and shady foliage. (And believe us, that shade feels great when the blazing sun beats down during our grueling Atlanta summers.)

Walk under the vine-covered arch to enter The Camp, where you’ll immediately feel transported far from the business-like setting of the Upper Westside. A stage, popular for outdoor concerts and events, sits in the middle of a flat area. Further back, kids can run around grassy hills with small tunnels and climbing posts. Families can also relax on low-to-the-ground hammocks made with wooden slats; unlike typical mesh hammocks, which cause small arms and feet to "fall through," this solid structure provides a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

What Makes The Camp Great for Families?

Everyone, from babies to grandparents, needs time outdoors. Research shows that green spaces foster connectivity, encourage physical activity, and boost mental health. In addition to its shady setting, The Camp provides plenty of seating areas with brightly painted Adirondack chairs. A brick-paved patio includes a large wooden picnic table and benches are situated all along the gravel paths. Because The Camp is located at The Works, families can also enjoy high-quality dining, entertainment, and special events.

Family-Friendly Events at The Camp

Check the calendar listings often, as The Camp offers many family-friendly programs throughout the entire year. During summer, bring your family to Summer Satur-Daze Concert Series. Held from 2-5pm on Saturdays, this free concert features various entertainers. You'll also find a farmers market on Sundays from noon to 4pm.

Insider Tips for The Camp at The Works

  • Parking is free for the first two hours and is located along the streets or in the three parking decks. Park on levels 1 and 2 in the Westbound Deck for the closest access to The Camp. You can also park in the Orange Deck near Fetch Dog Park or the newly opened Yellow Deck on Logan Circle.

More About The Works Atlanta

The Upper Westside of Atlanta transformed from an industrial, warehouse district to burgeoning entertainment destination. Making its debut in 2020, The Works includes the 25,000-square-foot Chattahoochee Food Works food hall, retail shops, office space, 300+ residential apartments, and several full-service restaurants, such as Fox Brothers BBQ and Chicheria Mexican Kitchen.

Food and Drink

You can pack a picnic to take with you to The Camp, or head to Chattahoochee Food Works. It's a perfect place for kids to experiment with different foods and ethnic cuisines. Many of the vendors accept online orders for convenience. Dine at the tables in the covered outdoor seating area or bring it over to The Camp, where it's less crowded and you have plenty of room to spread out. Parents can order a cup of joe from BRASH Coffee or drink an icy cold beer from Dr. Scofflaw’s Brewery and take it to the Camp as well. For a special treat, stop by Morelli’s Ice Cream for a sweet treat.

Entertainment

The Works boasts several cool entertainment spots, which are also great for hosting kids’ birthday parties. There’s American Axes, popular with teens, and The Back Nine, for golf fans. Check out Your Third Spot, offering over 70 games including cornhole, pinball, air hockey, bowling, and a video arcade, as well as a full-service restaurant, and bar -- the venue allows kids (with adult supervision) on weekends until 5pm. During those hours, experience passes are $25 per person ages 3-70, and the restaurant offers a kids' meal.
